Welcome to our exciting and technology-intensive world.
Your Role
Saab Training & Simulation is in an expansion phase and we are now looking for an experienced software engineer in Embedded Linux who wants to help develop our advanced training equipment. This is a role for you who thrives in a technically challenging environment and is attracted to working with modern technology and complex systems where software and hardware interact closely.
You will be part of a team, currently consisting of eight people, where you together are responsible for communication solutions in our systems. The work is varied and takes place in close collaboration with electronics developers, test engineers, application engineers, and team leaders.
In this role, you will work with development in C and/or C++, implementation of new features, integration, troubleshooting, as well as testing and verification of systems. You will be involved throughout the entire development chain, from requirements and design to implementation and maintenance - with a particular focus on robust and reliable Linux-based solutions.
Your Profile
We are looking for an experienced and committed software engineer with a strong technical interest and a desire to continuously develop. You thrive in an environment where complex systems place high demands on quality, structure, and precision, and are motivated by working closely with both software and hardware.
The role requires good collaboration skills and an open, unpretentious approach. A structured work method and the ability to take responsibility for your own deliveries are a given. You are happy to share your knowledge and can easily communicate technical solutions clearly and pedagogically, both within the team and in collaboration with other functions.
To succeed in this role, you have:
- A Master's degree in computer science/electronics or equivalent engineering degree
- Several years of experience in software development for embedded systems
- Very good knowledge of C and/or C++
- Experience with Linux-based systems
- Experience with version control using GIT
- Good communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
It is an advantage if you have experience with real-time operating systems, have worked with radio communication, or are accustomed to hardware-near troubleshooting and measurement. Experience with development environments such as RHEL or similar is also a plus.
The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable security protection regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may involve requirements for certain citizenship.
